I had an unsightly brown spot on the face removed by Dr Clayton. It was painless, and I’m very pleased with the result. There was a heavy bruise followed by a scab for a week or so after the treatment, but I had been warned of this so it wasn’t a problem; and it was a small price to pay for the removal of the brown spot. I am more than happy to recommend this service.

5 I am now on my third treatment for hair removal and I have nothing negative to say about this clinic.
I was a bit dubious initially as I have tried other treatments, from my first treatment I noted a remarkable difference which in turn boosted my confidence, sounds dramatic but I used to spend up to 3 hours a week plucking hairs from my chin and neck, now all I is spent a couple of minutes a month trimming any hairs that appear in between treatment.
By the time the second treatment was due the hair growth was sparse and they encouraged me to wait to gain maximum benefit from the treatment unlike other clinics who bully you into booking further appointments, your misfortune is their gain! The price for the treatment is also very competitive.
They do their utmost best to accommodate changes in appointments as I have to fit it in during working hours, they even call you a couple of days before to remind you of your appointment, I was due to go on holiday and they worked around me calculating when it would be safe for me to carry out the procedure as you cannot do the treatment if your skin has been exposed to the sun.
Lizzie who performs the procedure is amazing, nothing fazes her! The reception staff are very knowledgeable and ensure things run smoothly and put you at ease.
I only found out about the clinic through a friend, it really is a hidden secret.
Excellent service all round - thank you all!

5After a lot of research into where to go I had a course of treatment for facial rosacea that included IPL and laser. Dr Papageorgiou was very clear about what needed to be done, number of sessions, cost etc and did a test patch. The fact this is right in the middle of one of London’s biggest hospitals is a big reassurance. The results have been excellent and I would say improved by 80% a problem that was having a big impact on my confidence.

5Very rude receptionists - clearly need training on how to be polite and helpful. Puts you off wanting to book an appointment to get the treatment done.

1Drs Clayton and Papageorgio always gave me excellent treatment and care including hand and chest age spots and facial broken veins/scars with lasers. I would go back and have always been 100% satisfied ith outcome and their care. Ann

5I can highly recommend this clinic - it’s well worth the money. The staff are excellent and the treatment second to none. I have melasma and was talked clearly through the available treatments by the dermatologist.
I would have posted a positive review of the clinic, even if the treatments they proposed had not been effective - but they were and almost after the first application I noticed a significant positive difference. I can’t say the same effect will happen to everyone who goes here, but I can safely say that the clinic is an excellent treatment centre.

5I’ve been going to the clinic for a few years now for laser hair removal. Everyone at the clinic is extremely professional, and my treatments have been very effective and safe. The staff are very straightforward and clear about the process and what to expect before, during and after each laser treatment. I’ve never experienced any adverse effects. Highly recommended.

5I would avoid this place, burned my checks back in 2007, seriously take my advice and AVOID! The patch test was done by a lady but the actual treatments were done by Dr William Clayton who burned my cheeks. Thank God I found snail cream to heal my pigmenented burned marks that took nearly a year to subside! AVOID this laser clinic.

1I would like to express my huge appreciation for the service I was provided from both the clinic manager Jill and Doctor William Clayton.
The treatment results were more than what I expected.
I will definitely be returning again soon!
Thank you for your excellent customer service.
Many thanks,
Laura

5A friend recommended the clinic to me after years of threading my facial hair which was laboriously tasking procedure every 2wks. I contacted the clinic, the staff were professional and answered my questions whilst putting any fears I had at bay.
The results were amazing! I’ve had two session so far, the facial hair are thinner and it takes a much longer time for a regrowth.
Just like with earlier reviews, I feel safer and in better hands being in the hospital than with the independent clinic.

5Excellent Service & Results.
I contacted the clinic via their web page. A very polite receptionist called me the next day. I booked to have a 1p sized sun spot removed from my face. Clinic easy to find, Dr Clayton explained the procedure. It took only a couple of minutes and I was left with a sore purplish mark on my face, Soreness lasted less than an hour. The dark scab was very superficial and fell off after 6 days leaving no trace of the sun spot. I am delighted with the result thank you.

5We are very much grateful to the clinic for looking after our daughter Yasmin. We can not give enough thanks and praise for Dr William Clayton as for his professionalism and honest advice. His unlimited patience and empathy, we can not thank him enough. We were not fortunate enough to meet him at the beginning but because of his experience and counseling ,I think we’ve been able to take the appropriate decisions.
He is without a doubt an unshakable cause for the success of this clinic and we appreciate his help. We are sure that the rest of the team are on the same line of honesty and professionalism. We have no hesitation to recommend this clinic for people with skin and hair problems so that they can get proper care.

5I attended this clinic a few years ago, blimmey must have been around
2008⁄
09 for a tattoo removal and traveled from. I decided that although it was advertised as ‘private’ clinic, it is run from within the confines of an NHS hospital which is what made my decision to go here and knowing I would be getting a proper Dr doing the procedure (something you can’t guarantee in an outside independent clinic) cause I don’t think they’d let any “Jo Blog” use the facilities of a NHS hospital to do treatments like this.
Anyhow, My tattoo was a multi coloured Teddy (about 3 and a half inches) in size and in total it took 16 sessions (going back every 6 weeks). All the staff from the reception to the Dr doing the procedure was very professional and put you at ease and gave you all the information needed about the procedure. I was aware from the very beginning that due to the type of laser they use here the green colour in my tattoo react to the laser light and so would not be removed.
By the 2nd session you could see the colours disappearing and after 16 treatments the tattoo was gone, and now a few years have passed you wouldn’t know unless you looked really really close where there is just some very very mild skin pigmentation difference, mainly from where the outline of the original tattoo was, oh and the green leaves (which are little more than a smudge LOL!). Skin texture is all normal too so no scaring really, but then I was really good with the after care and ensuring it was cleaned and moisturised with E45 cream daily and kept the dressing in situ as advised. The treatment itself is painful and like they advise, is like 1000 fine elastic bands whipping you 100 times a second or like hot fine fat splatting at you (like when frying an egg) but overall, worth the travel all the way from SE London and the 5-15 mins you are sat in that chair) . Highly recommended clinic and would definitely recommend any of my friends if they needed laser tattoo removal :)

5I have been going to the laser clinic at the Royal Free for around three years now. I have PCOS, I’m blond and have black hair growth on my face and chest. I have been to a lot of different clinic over the years for my hair removal and I have to say that the Laser clinic at the Royal Free has changed my life. The staff there are really friendly and professional, they tell you the ins and outs of everything before you have the treatment. I didn’t have any treatment for just over a year when I got pregnant and had my baby as the hair growth slowed down. I went back there and the staff once again went over everything that I had to know just because I hadn’t been there for a year which I thought was very helpful and professional of them as they know me really well.
From the receptionist to the staff I can’t praise them enough and as for the treatment it self, I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants hair removal that is affective and really does work.
Although I have PCOS and my hair will more than likely never go away I went from treatments every month to now every three to four months which has given me the confidence to carry on with my life and meet new people.
Thank you Laser clinic at the Royal free.

5I agree completely with Dr Pc’s comments above. Likewise, I did a lot of research too and was like a Yeti when I came in my legs in particular being like door mats. The hair was so thick coarse and strong I couldn’t manage it. Luckily the treatment proved extremely effective and I am now left with just baby soft skin. I was told they cannot claim it’s permanent but it’s been over 6 months now and no hairs have grown back. I am very happy.

5I have used the laser clinic for 2 years now, though very infrequently now as the treatment has been extremely effective. As a doctor (consultant) myself, but in a different specialty I took time to research the best place for private laser treatments, asking medical friends and colleagues for recommendation. It didn’t take long to decide on this one. It’s a commute for me, but definitely worth it.
I have been very impressed by Dr Clayton’s professional approach and technical expertise. He always put safety first, informs you of risks and his vast clinical experience minimises them. As someone with Asian skin, where inexperienced or unskilled laser treatment can lead to burning, scarring or ineffective treatment if not performed well I have been very satisfied that Dr Clayton has always got the balance right. My treatments have been effective and despite having high risk skin I have never had a problem. I can not say the same about a previous clinic I tried before this one. The emphasis is on a good clinical result - not simple profit. Last summer I turned up with a slight tan after a holiday and was advised to postpone treatment. I was not charged for that session because the clinic want to make it easy for patients to make the right choice. Another time, I was seen when I had got the appointment time wrong in my diary. Outstanding customer service.
For excellent medical treatment by professional, well qualified and very experienced doctors who put your interests first, this is the place to go. A first rate service which I have used and would recommend to anyone!
